Hi! My name is Rex and I've had quite the journey since I first arrived here at the shelter way back in November 2018.

I was surrendered severely overweight, weighing a whopping 72kg! It was hard to hear but the vets here told me my ideal weight is 40kg! I finally decided now was the time for a change, so I went into foster care with one of the staff members here who helped me kick start my weight loss journey. 12 months on I'm super proud to say I am now weighing in at 51kg and am finally ready to find my forever home.

While in foster care I have been living with 3 dogs of all different sizes and 4 cats. I'm not too bothered by the cats and I prefer snuggling with my smaller doggie friends who are quite and low energy like me.

As I've shed the kilos I've found I really love going for daily strolls around the neighborhood, although nothing too strenuous as my joints can get a bit sore if I over exercise.

My ideal home would be one where I will be welcome inside the house and be included in family fun. I also need people determined to help me continue my weight loss journey as I've still got a way to go before reaching my goal weight.
