About Lucy ~ 9 month old Kelpie X (on trial 11/11/19)
Hi! My name is Lucy. I am a 9 month old beautiful black, white and tan Kelpie X. Due to no fault of my own I have come into care and am looking for my new forever home.
I am a very happy and sociable girl who loves lots of cuddles and playing with my foster brother Busta (Rottweiler) and sister Pippa (Labrador).
I love running around in the yard, playing fetch, swimming in the lake and playing chaseys and wrestles with my siblings.
Since I am still a pup I really enjoy being active throughout the day and would love my new owner to take me exploring with frequent walks and socialisation with other doggos. I have a big heart that loves to be shown lots of love and attention, I may take a little to warm up to at first but once I do I will forever be your loyal companion.
I am very well behaved and only bark to alert my foster parents if a stranger arrives at home. But other than that, I am pretty chilled out doggo who is happy to independently do my own thing but also just as much loves playing with my siblings.
On walks I can be very excitable initially but I get into the groove and calm down once we are out and about. I am sometimes unsure of other dogs until I warm up to them but never am I aggressive, just a little shy.
I’m an outside dog however I do sleep on my doggy bed inside the shed with my siblings of a night-time. When I do go inside with my humans for cuddles I am toilet trained and notify by sitting at the back door when I need to use the toilet.
I really love my food and at breakfast/dinner time! I am very patient and even though I am super excited I compose myself and will sit until my humans put my food in front of me and then its go time!
I am great in the car and will lay down until we reach our destination. I don’t get car sick and have never had any accidents in the car.
In summary, I will be best suited to a medium to high level activity couple or family who are willing to put in the time and effort I deserve. I am happy to be an outside dog but would love a family who can give me a sibling to play with so I don’t get lonely.
As Lucy is not yet desexed (she only recently came off heat), she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing.
