About Scarlett 🌹
This adorable little lady is Scarlett....she's our 7 month old Blue Faced Fawn Frenchie, and an absolute stunner! She's in care with another young host Frenchie and 4 other mixed breed host dogs who she gets along great with. This little lady gains the trust of her humans fairly quickly and once she does, she will follow you everywhere. She has a playful personality and would certainly benefit from having another Frenchie or similiar sized dog to play and hang out with. If she was to be an only dog, she would prefer to have the company of her humans around, rather than being left on her own all day.
Scarlett is in care with older children who understand that she will approach and interact with them when she feels comfortable. She does get startled with sudden movements and loud noises, so for this reason we recommend children over the age of 8 years. Toilet training is coming along well and she does follow the lead of her host dogs. Scarlett enjoys snuggling up next to you on the couch and is hoping for a home where your bed is also her bed.
Despite their glum expression, the French Bulldog is comical and entertaining. They are quite stubborn and can be challenging to train, yet also surprisingly sensitive, remembers what they learn, and responds well to early, patient, persistent training that utilizes food motivation.
Snorting, snuffling, and flatulence go with the territory of short-faced breeds. We recommend doing your research on the breed before choosing to own one, as they do come with a range of health issues and require certain needs.
Due to their 'screw' tails, they are susceptible to a condition known as 'hemivertebra of the spine'. When hemivertebra is present in your dog’s tail, it typically is not an issue. When it is in their spine, it can lead to serious problems. The deformity of the vertebrae will lead to a twisting of the spine which can compress your dog’s spinal cord. Hemivertebra can be minor, where only one or two vertebrae have the deformity and the dog does not experience any clinical signs. In some cases, the dog will experience minor symptoms; in other cases, the condition will significantly impact the dog’s ability to function.
Scarlett has been tested for this condition and has 1 Hemivertebre present which is fairly common in the Breed. Discouraging her jumping on and off the lounge and bed will minimise the risk of any spinal issues. Please take into consideration, the French Bulldog is by no means an athlete or flyball champion! Any activities that involve twisting of the spine are not recommended.
Scarlett has also had Stenotic Nares surgery to allow improved airflow through the nostrils. She did not appear to have an elongated soft palate.
So if you've done your research and decided that this breed is for you, please send us an enquiry. Scarlett has had all her vet work completed this week and now ready to head off to her forever home. She is located in Hamlyn Terrace on the Central Coast NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
