About Lou Lou
Hi there, my name is Lou Lou or sometimes my foster Mum calls me Princess Lou Lou because yes, I can act like a bit of a princess. Unlike a lot of my fellow dog friends in rescue I came from a much-loved home, but because of an issue of mine they had to sadly put me into care so I could become my best self.
So, before you fall to in love with my looks there is something you will need to know first….
Not only am a Princess but to some people I am probably considered high maintenance. I have very bad skin allergies; you cannot tell by looking at me because I am such a beautiful girl and in such beautiful condition now. But over the months I have been in care and the humans trialled a lot of different things to figure out what my allergy/allergies may be.
But despite everything I continued to scratch and bite myself so much that my skin was red raw and would bleed, my fur was patchy and my foster Mum and I would get very little sleep.
The humans and the vet have now got me on medication which I have been on the past couple of months and as you can see, I am like a new girl, but it does not come cheap….it is approximately $250 every 3 months, so please factor that into your budget before putting an application in for me.
My foster Mum also makes my meals with fresh chicken and vegetables, no processed dog food for me apart from a small amount of premium kibble, but if you get the opportunity to meet me, she can explain all of that to you.
If I have not lost your interest yet a little more about “Me”. I am a bit standoffish with strangers at first, especially males but please don’t let my little hound dog bark put you off, I guarantee you will fall in love with me once we get to know each other.
I am super sweet and love spending time with my humans as well as playing with my furry friends, I am currently living with 3 other dogs. Please if you already have a dog, they must be friendly as I assume all dogs want to be my friend. Cats do not seem to faze me; but my foster families cats are used to dogs so are super chilled.
I love children but they need to be at an age to know that my beautiful big ears are not playthings and that I may try to jump on them on them in my excitement, I am a compact build so though I am small I have some weight behind me thanks to some good home cooking.
I am only young and am still learning, yet I am a stubborn beagle, so it does take a little bit of reinforcing. I would prefer to be a part of a family that is not away from home all day as I can get bored and find other thing to amuse myself like chewing things up, that are left in my reach. I have been known to decorate the yard with a roll of toilet paper or throw a pair of undies around the yard like I am throwing a baton in a marching band!
I love to go on my daily walks and walk well on the lead, however because of my beagle nose and my independent streak I am not allowed off lead. I enjoy running around, playing fetch and tug of war in my large yard, but once I have had my fill of play, I love nothing more than cuddling on the couch or snuggling up in bed with my humans.
If you feel you can meet my needs and provide me with the home that I am accustomed to, feel free to submit an application so we can meet.
Love Lou Lou xx
