Hi everyone!
My name is Luke. I was rescued from a council pound; my owners had to move towns and didn't take me with. Thankfully, my poundies helped me and my other poundmate Lari, get to safety with OTC!
I have been an absolute pleasure to care for since coming to OTC. My prior family definitely took great care of me as I seem very at home on a couch snuggled up watching telly. I am no stranger to belly rubs and toys, and am just a really easy going dog. I currently live as a single dog, however I do get along with other dogs well. I haven't yet been tested with cats. I travel well in the car, and just sit quietly watching. At the vet, I let them do what they need to do and don't mind being poked and prodded.
My current carer works part time hours, so I am used to being home alone at times. I have met kids and was lovely with them. My ideal home will let me sleep inside at night, has a 5ft+ fence to keep me safe, and will take me out 3 or 4 times a week for adventures/exercise. I would like to live with other dogs, but am ok on my own as long as you will let me be a part of the family. I am fully grown and 23kg. I know sit, lay, and shake, and am learning inside/outside.
If you're looking for a loving, snuggly, happy boy, I'm the one you need. Apply to meet me today; I won't last long!
Medical notes
I am desexed, fully vaccinated to a c5 standard, microchipped. I was tested for heartworm when OTC took me in, and I was negative. I am up to date with flea/tick/intestinal and heartworming

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
