About Phoenix ~ Kelpie X BC (on trial 10/11/19)
Hi my name is Phoenix! I'm almost six months old. My dad was a Border Collie and Mum was a mixed breed with Kelpie, Mastiff, but I have a stumpy tail, like a Cattle Dog, so you decide. My papers say Kelpie x. Whatever the mixture, my foster Mum says I’m a beautiful girl who will grow to be a medium size.
I came into care with my two sisters. We haven’t been in care for long and before coming into care we hadn’t been exposed to the outside world. As a result, I can be a little bit timid of new things, but with a little encouragement (and some treats) I am learning how to live in the big wide world. I am an extremely affectionate girl and loves pats and cuddles.
I am on the lookout for a new home, one that will include me in their daily lives. One with patience and who is committed to continuing the training my foster mum has started. I am very smart and am picking up things quickly. I already know how to sit, drop, use a doggy door, sleep happily in a crate and my toilet training is coming along well. I am only just learning how to walk on a lead, so will need some ongoing training in this area. I do get excited and I can pull, especially if I see another dog.
I would love to go and live with a family who has someone who doesn’t work fulltime or a home with another doggy playmate and a big yard for me to explore. While I do currently live with a toddler in my foster home, being a puppy I can get a bit excited, so wouldn’t be suitable with young children. I need to be welcomed inside at least when my new owners are home.
I get along well with other dogs. I currently live with a foster brother, who I get along with. I haven’t been exposed to cats or pocket pets, but my foster mum doesn’t think I would be suitable to a home with them.
Having a number of working breeds in my mix, I need to go to a family committed to daily exercise. I need to be walked or exercised every day to prevent me from being naughty when I am left alone. Being a puppy I can be a bit naughty and pinch, I mean borrow items that are left around.
I travel well in the car and hopefully my new home, would include lots of trips exploring the outside world once I have settled in.
I really am a beautiful girl who would flourish in a home that can give me lots of love and attention. If you are interested in adoption Phoenix, please either contact my foster mum, Melissa at melissapollo64@gmail.com or fill in an application at https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt I’m currently in foster care in Newcastle in Newcastle, NSW.
My adoption fee is $500 and I’m about to be desexed, have had my two puppy vaccinations, and have been treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
