About Monty Verbeek
Monty is a quiet, happy dog who loves company. At home, he is happy to sit in the sun or on the couch, just keeping his family company. Other great joys are tummy rubs and burrowing under the blankets at bedtime. He loves joining in whatever his family is doing, especially if that means an outing in the car or a walk where he might meet other dogs for some canine social time. Monty has been well socialized and is great with other dogs â calm, confident and friendly, never boisterous or rude. He is always happy to be patted and will show his appreciation by wagging his tail. He really is so lovable and it doesnât take long to develop a positive rapport with him.
Monty would be a great companion for someone who works from home or an active older person who enjoys spending time in the garden and getting out and about. He would be rapt if there was another dog to share his family with, and if there are children they will be older and calm. Some extra training would be ideal. He can be an independent little guy. He walks well on the lead, but when you need him to come, or stay, sometimes you may need to say it more than once. All you need is a little patience, and maybe a bag full of treats to rattle as temptation â that works well too.
Trust us when we say Monty is worth the effort. He is the kindest, most loving and loyal creature. Once youâve won him over heâs yours forever.
Montyâs new home will be cat free.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adoptersâ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
