Meet Roofie!
Roofie is a big boy, he weighs about 32kgs and the vet thinks he has a little bit more growing to do. He has a super impressive bark, but chooses to use it wisely and rarely.
He loves his people and is a relaxed soul that just likes to be where you are.
He does get excited from time to time and his zoomies are very impressive around the backyard. He’d probably be best without really tiny people around as he might knock them over with his excitement. He has met some kids, 5 and 6 years old and he was very gentle with them and gave them little licks on the face.
He likes making new friends, attending doggy day care and loves the water.
He knows how to sit, drop, wait for his dinner, sit to cross the road, and shake paws (although sometimes this results in two paws coming up and a giant sized hug). He is very smart and has learned that he is not allowed into the kitchen and will wait at the door.
Roofie does not like cats – this is not negotiable – he has been tested around cats and it was not successful – so his perfect home needs to be without a cat. He would also be best without pocket pets like rabbits, birds, guinea pigs etc.
He has been an only dog before and his humans worked full time so he is happy enough in the backyard for longer periods of time, just as long as he has a few toys to entertain him, in particular his kong filled with frozen kangaroo.
He currently lives with another large dog and they like hanging out in the sun, playing tug-a-war or stealing the tennis ball off each other.
He is not allowed on the couch or the bed at his foster house but he has eyed both of these off with intent, so I suspect he would be delighted to join you on the couch for a cuddle at any opportunity.
In summer he will require sunscreen on his nose as he is quite pink and doesn’t have a lot of fur.
Roofie is fully house trained. He loves going for a walk in the mornings and evenings to sniff everything, he does pull a bit on the lead when he is being walked with another dog but he is good when on his own.
If you are looking for a giant new friend then he could be for you!
