About Bonnie
Bonnie is an 9 month old Harrier pup surrendered to us by an older owner going into a retirement village.
Bonnie has a delightful nature and is friends with cats, dogs and kids. Sometimes she gets a bit too excited with younger children and need a little supervision. Bonnie would suit a home where someone is home more often than not, as she can be very vocal when she is left alone outside.
Bonnie is an intelligent dog who learns quickly, however can be wilful at times, so needs firm handling. Bonnie understands a few basic commands, however will require ongoing training to ensure she follows these consistently.
She is learning to walk well on the lead without pulling, but typical of her breed she still gets distracted by enticing smells and other dogs. She will need ongoing training and socialising.
Bonnie is a big smooch who insists on cuddling up to you on the lounge and giving you lots of kisses.
Bonnie does have some medical considerations, please see details below.
Bonnie needs to go to a home with an existing dog and looking for a family who has experience with and/ or understanding of scenthounds.
Medical notes
Bonnie has been diagnosed with possible ricketts due to lack of some vital nutrients whilst she was growing. Any future family will need to provide her with high quality puppy growth food until at least 12mths of age. At which time she will require a further x-ray performed by Forever Friends Animal Rescue expert vets to determine if surgery is required. The medical costs associated with these will be covered by Forever Friends Animal Rescue.
