Dexter

ADOPTION PENDING: NOT TAKING ENQUIRIES.
Dexter arrived from the pound in early June very unsure of the world.
He was not coping in the shelter environment so we reached out to Wild Things Veterinary Behaviour Services who came out to see how they could help Dexter. He was diagnosed with a generalised anxiety disorder and separation anxiety. We then set out a behaviour modification program for him whilst he is in our care and started him on some medications to help him cope and learn while in the shelter.
Since then Dexter has come a long way! He is super intelligent and eager to learn.
He is learning how to cope alone, manners and how to appropriately interact with other dogs in the shelter.
Dexter is looking for a quiet mature home where he will be a big part of the family. No young children. Dexter would be better suited to a home that understands dog body language and at least basic training.
He will require further training once in the home to ensure both Dexter and the new owners are on the right track.
At this stage Dexter would be better suited to a solo pet home.
