About Merlot
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Merlot is a true gentleman. He is a quiet boy who is always up for a scratch under the chin or pat. Whilst he is considered a senior (7yrs +) all this means is he's not a silly little kitten any more that will scale your curtains, he's probably only just reaching middle age in cat years and is looking for a home where he can be treated like the prince he is.
My Ideal Home:
Merlot is looking for a home that will keep him safely indoors 100% of the time, not only for his safety but for that of our native wildlife. All he wants is a family to love and give him the attention he deserves.
What is Known About My Background:
Merlot came into care from a local pound.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
Merlot prefers to do his own thing and as such hasn't really interacted with the resident cats, except to give them a hiss if they get close. This doesn't mean that he may not settle into a home with another cat as long as they are able to have their own space and with time may become friends. Likewise with the resident dog - disinterest is probably a good word for his thoughts on him. I have no hesitation that as long as he was given his own space and respect he would be fine with both cats and dogs. Likewise he should be fine with children that give don't try to pick him up and carry him or bug him all the time, perhaps teenagers or children that know to leave him alone when he's had enough.
