About Scruffy Thorvald
Please note: Scruffy will be rehomed with another dog for company or will at least have someone around for most of the day.
Scruffy Thorvald loves:
• Life
• People
• Kids
• Dogs, all kinds and sizes
• Food
• Car trips
• Playing in water
He is enthusiastic, high energy and happy.
With people, Scruffy can be a little demanding if he feels he is not getting enough attention. With dogs, he plays enthusiastically, however, with good doggie manners, he graciously moves on, if another dog does not want to play. He is happy to find another friend or occupy himself.
Unfortunately for Scruffy, no one remembered he needed an education, therefore, Scruffy is a work in progress!
At present Scruffy will sit and wait patiently whilst you prepare his meals and is quickly learning to wait for his bowl to be placed in front of him. He will sit and wait for you to open a gate or door. He is well progressed with lead and toilet training and is quickly learning the command to go to his bed. Due to his love of life and interest in all things, his recall still requires lots of reinforcement.
The ideal home for Scruffy will be a high energy family who will include him in their day to day activities. Older kids would be a bonus and another doggie friend, a must. An adoptive family will have the time and energy to commit to his on-going training.
Scruffy has an easy care coat, however, no matter what you do with him, he always looks like he is having a bad hair day, which is rather endearing.
Scruffy is waiting to: Live, Love and Learn with his forever family. Perhaps that is you.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
