A man and his Pickle walk into a bar…...
Everyone turns around to watch him as he and his Pickle find a table to sit and enjoy the view and a brew.
As he passes the people they all want to stop and talk to him about his Pickle.
“Does your Pickle like car rides?”
“Oh yes indeed” he replies “My Pickle loves going out in the car to meet people and get cuddles and hugs”
“Your Pickle looks a bit dopey” someone commented.
The man took affront and said quite firmly “My Pickle is not dopey at all, my Pickle may have bad eyesight but my Pickle is incredibly smart. Just because my Pickle can’t see things in the distance and so has a bark or two until they come into focus does not mean my Pickle is dopey. My Pickle loves to socialise with polite people and confident older children, not people like you” he said as he continued to the table in a huff
“Hey bro your does your Pickle go everywhere with you?”
The man turned around at the person who shouted that and replied “My Pickle has her very own comfy bed that is special for her to call her own. She loves that bed and lays on it with toys and treats when I am out. Not a peep does she make when I go away because she has her lovely bed and toys and by being inside in the shade when I go out she looks after her skin and doesn’t get sunburnt”
“Hey man does your Pickle want to play with my boy and girl at the park? I bet she would have fun”
The man replied “That depends on if she likes your boy or girl and if the park is an on lead area. You see because my Pickle has bad eyesight I always keep Pickle on a lead to keep my precious Pickle safe and because she can’t see too far she gets a fright if dogs coming running up to her. Pickle likes most other dogs but when Pickle doesn’t want to play or meet them then Pickle says no.”
“Your Pickle looks like a great hunting dog” one person said
Outraged the man glared, “How dare you say that about my Pickle. She has met pigs and goats and birds and likes them all but Pickle has not met any free ranging cats. She is NOT a hunting dog she is a loving dog.”
“Mate I will pay you $10 bucks for your Pickle”
To this the man just shook his head, looked at his Pickle and said “Pfft some humans are just not the type you want to know my girl. You have much higher standards than that!”
They finally made it to their table and the man and his Pickle ordered their food. Chicken for Pickle because she loves chicken the best.
As they sat there, the man and his Pickle, the others in the bar slowly turned back to what they were doing except one person who came over and said “Sir I think your Pickle is perfect. You and your Pickle are lovely and I hope your Pickle finds a perfect home. I imagine one with no stairs would be best hey?”
To this the man answered “Thank you yes indeed, no steps would be best because of her eyes and thank you for your kind words”
From that time on everyone ordered Pickles with their meals at the bar where they had met the man and his outstanding Pickle!!!!
