Elena is a very friendly, loving, gentle and sweet old girl who loves being part of the family. Elena is fantastic with all people including small children. She loves cats but is best suited to being the only dog in residence. Elena loves walks and meeting people on her adventures.

Elena loves to play ball and rarely barks except when playing ball. Elena is a quiet girl just wanting to be at your feet being cuddled and loved. She is very sweet and sucks everyone in that meets her.

She is happy being inside and outside. Even though she is over weight she is slowly finding her waistline with lots of exercise that she had not experienced before. Elena has been losing weight and is feeling very good about herself. She takes food gently from your hands and is happy to be touched when eating. She is not fussed when cats walk past her when she is eating and she takes her time to enjoy her meals. Elena travels well in the car and enjoys a car ride.

Elena walks very well on her lead and prefers to now walk in areas where other dogs won't bother her.

Elena has progressive retinal atrophy which means she is slowly going blind. The Vet said that for her age she is in excellent health and her teeth are great, her eye sight will not stop her. Elena can see during the day however struggles at night in complete darkness.

Elena will suit a loving home where she will get daily walks to assist her to maintain her weight. She will require a patient loving family or person who will support her when she one day becomes blind. Elena will need a safe backyard to support her in years to come where there are limited obstacles.

Elena loves human company however patiently awaits your return from work. It would make her really happy if you didn't leave her for too long though, especially as she settles into retirement. She doesn't bark, dig, jump or chew. She bites her balls and they sometimes pop. She doesn't try to escape and is obedient. She has not been tested with small animals such as chickens and rabbits. She likes her kennel and her outside bed and also loves to sleep by the fire and sleep inside.
