About Duke - meet and greet 22-01-20
Duke has been a much loved family member who has come from a family who have made the very difficult decision to part with Duke.
Duke is a stock coat desexed male German Shepherd who is in care in Cumberland Reach. Duke is perfect around children having been a family member in a home with five children. Fully house trained this gentle three year old boy slept beside the six year olds’ bed each night.
Duke is social with dogs of his own size and knows has obedience down pat. A gentle natured Shepherd who will wait to be told to eat his dinner and has been taught to high five and be tolerant around children.
Duke is a fun loving shepherd who is appealing with his one soft ear.
Duke is best suited as a companion for a medium to large breed dog. No cats, small dogs or pocket pets for this gorgeous boy.
If you love your shepherds and understand their “human” qualities then Duke is the soul mate dog you have been looking for.
For more information on Duke please contact us by selecting the orange button "Enquire about this pet".
Medical notes
Duke is desexed, fully vaccinated and is on heart worm prevention. Duke will come with his dry dog food as he has a condition which requires him to remain on a diet of dry food (Science Diet ID low fat) as he has irritable bowel if given fatty food. He also comes with Pet Insurance.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
