About Ines
Ines is six months old and is a mismarked bew. Loveheart (her friend in the second photo) is seven months old and an agouti berkshire. Both are very sweet girls who love yoghurt drops and mealworms. Loveheart and ines will need an owner who understands myco and will keep their cage very clean from urine and ammonia build up- any unclean bedding will send loveheart into a myco flare up with wheezing, sneezing, a runny nose and make her generally ill. Care needs to be taken to avoid this but when sometimes like rats do, she will have a slight flare up anyway and will need to see the vet for doxycycline/baytril. This goes for ines too. Ines does tend to get porphyrin around her eyes even when she is not unwell. Both rats are used to taking strawberry topping from a 1ml syringe so when the time comes to give them meds, it is very easy to get the girls to take them. They need an owner who understands that these girls will need to see a vet at least once throughout their lives. It is good to have the meds on standby as rats tend to get very ill with respiratory problems very easily and can go downhill very fast. These girls are shy during free range time and prefer to hide in your hair, sleeve or in an igloo. They are very gentle, sweet natured girls. Ines and loveheart are a private rehoming, although an adoption contract will still apply. If you would like to meet these girls, please visit our website and fill in an adoption enquiry form: www.
