About Walter ✨
Introducing Walter, our adorable little Cattle x Kelpie boy.....A gentle soul that adores his humans. He will be a very loyal, faithful companion and protective of his family.
Walter is 1 of 6 pups who arrived in care at the age of 6 weeks. He is currently in care with 3 of his siblings and spends his days at Follyfoot Childcare centre, where his foster mum works. He then heads back to his foster home in the afternoon and learns all about the routines of a home. As you can imagine, Walter has had plenty of exposure to young children and new people coming through the centre and his little face lights up when he sees the kids. He has been socialised with other dogs during his time in care and enjoys playing with them all.
During his time in foster care, Walter has been working hard at toilet training and with ongoing training in his new home, this will be perfected in no time. He's a very clever boy and enjoys learning new things to impress his humans.
As with all our pups, we strongly recommend enrolling in Puppy school. Walter will need continued socialisation with other dogs during the puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that he grows up to be a well mannered and socialised boy. We believe that he will be a medium size dog when fully grown. He is a beautiful natured puppy, and given the right environment we’re sure he will grow to be an extremely loyal, well mannered adult.
We would love to help get you started with training, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Walter would be best suited to a home or property with another doggie companion or the company of his humans. He will need an active family who have experience and knowledge of the working dog breeds with a medium to large yard and secure height appropriate fencing.
Vet work will be complete in a couple of weeks....we are happy to organise meets prior to this but Walter will need to remain in care until all vet work is complete. He is located in Buff Point on the Central Coast NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
