About Callum
HI! Hey! Hi there!
My name is Callum. You can call me Callum, or Callie, or Callie Pup or ‘El Caliente’ which means the Hot One. Because my foster mum says I am one hot, spicy little firecracker.
If you haven’t guessed I am an Aussie Cattle dog. That means I am one smart little guy. I learned sit, touch and shake all within an hour. I am very food motivated to learn new tricks and also have taken all my medications with food with no issue. If you have a sweetie on offer, I am super keen to show you what a great guy I am.
I eat my kibble and mince for brekkie and dinner. I like to chew on a meaty bone to keep me busy in the afternoons.
I love a good squeak toy…I could squeak them for hours!
I also go 100 miles an hour because I’m pretty sure that’s the best speed there is. Keep me away from a mud puddle as I love a good roll ‘round in the dirt.
I do need a big doggie at home. I love my big doggie friend and if I get him in the backyard we have an awesome wrestle for hours. He doesn’t play tuggie though and I LOVE tuggie, so if you have a big doggie who loves tuggie just as much as me, I’d like to meet them to see if they would like to be my big brother or sis.
For the most part, I’ve been kept inside. I’ve been in foster care for 6 weeks and I’ve had my own bedroom for 6 weeks while foster Ma is at work. I love the backyard on the days she’s home and I get free but Foster Mum is worried I won’t understand where my yard ends so secure fencing is a must. I would probably go exploring if I was given wide open boundaries so good supervision and fencing while I learn whats what is good for me.
I’m looking for someone who understands the physical and mental stimulation that an Aussie Cattle dog requires and someone who loves my crazy, fiery, loving personality. I am super friendly so would love a doggy mate or a best human friend at home to share the days with.
I’m just a little guy who needs a lot of love and training but I am super keen to learn and can’t wait to meet you for a good ol’ wrestle.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. To meet, adopt or find out more details on this animal, please fill in our adoption application at our website- http://www.safehavenanimalrescueinc.com Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
2. Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend bringing your current dog/cat as this may stress the feline out.
3. The animal cannot be taken on the day unless prior arranged (over 2 hr round trip), and the adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. Once collected, the 10 day settling period begins, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care into a suitable foster home. The adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after this trial period there will be no refund made.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork, including the Change of Microchip Details form, is sent via email.
We endeavour to respond to your email within 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
