About Daisy
Daisy is a delightful little girl with lots of love to give and a very sweet nature. She is a happy girl who loves company, cuddles and pats. She is friendly and sociable with other dogs, and will play happily with them, running around playing 'chasey' games. She bonds quickly with like animals and is content to curl up with them, enjoying their physical presence. Daisy is great with people and will greet them with a wagging tail, however, she is slightly nervous around males so some work will be needed for her to gain their trust.
Daisy is the easiest dog to have around - her worst habit is her love of licking and how much attention she adores giving her foster humans and we can't really fault her love.
Daisy has been in a foster home with 2 cats and has shown no animosity towards them at all. She initially showed curiosity and would approach them, tail wagging, but run when they came near her. She is now completely comfortable with them, does not chase them, and will not bark or growl around them when they approach her.
Daisy loves to spend time both outdoors and indoors. She has picked up behaviours of the foster carers dogs so has a tendency to jump up when gets excited, however, responds well to commands such as 'down' and 'sit'. When outside, she will bark on odd occasions, and scratch at flyscreen doors, but this is generally because she wants to come inside. She settles very quickly though. She does have a tendency to show submission with larger dogs, and can become quite submissive if she thinks she's in trouble. This will likely reduce or stop once she is in her permanent home and built up trust with new owners and has a consistent everyday routine. She is needing a patient and caring home as Daisy's past has shown she didn't have the best start being a tad shy to begin with so extra love is a must. A secure yard is also needed as Daisy is under knee height and only small.
Daisy is learning to toilet outdoors, and can go all day inside with no accidents, however, she has yet to learn to let you know if she needs to go outside. She will toilet straight away once going outside after being indoors overnight.
Daisy is happy to sleep indoors, either on a dog bed or human bed if allowed. She will lie quietly and curl up for the night with no fuss.
