About Rocky ~ German Shepherd X (on trial 12/10/19)
Hi my name is Rocky! I’m 3 and 1/2 years old and a rather strapping young lad. My papers say I’m a German Shepard cross, but I’m a real mixed bag. I’m a medium sized boy, at a guess around 30kg.
Dog Rescue Newcastle are helping my current owner find an amazing new family for me. One that has a bit more time for me, that loves to go for walks as much as I do and one that would love to socialise me with other dogs.
I get along well with other dogs. I currently live on my own, so could stay an only dog as long as I get lots of opportunities to play with other dogs as I am quite the social butterfly. I would also love to go to a family that has another dog that I can play with. My current owner does work full time and I am ok while they are at work, but any new home would need to have lots of time for me when they get home if they work full time. I would be very happy for a daily walk and then to sit by your side for a relaxing evening.
I haven’t been exposed very much to around cats or pocket pets, but I may just want to play with them, so a home without cats or pocket pets would be best.
I know how to sit and drop. A home that is committed to providing me some ongoing training would be ideal. I respond very well to training, particularly when treats are involved. I do pull a little bit during walks, but if I'm walked everyday, I’m sure I wouldn’t be so excited and would improve. Currently I am walked using a halti harness and walk well with that on.
I have been mainly an outside dog, but am welcomed inside at night to sleep and don’t have any accidents. I would need to be allowed to sleep inside in my forever home and would love to be welcomed inside whenever you are home.
I currently live with a child who is over 5, so am fine around kids, but as I am a strong boy that could do with a bit more training, it would be best if any kids in my forever home were over 10. I travel fine in a car and hopefully my new home, would include lots of trips to the park, beach or even a café.
I really am a beautiful boy who would flourish in a home that can give me lots of love and attention. If you are interested in adoption Rocky, please ether contact Melissa at melissapollo64@gmail.com who is helping my owner find my new home, or fill in an application at https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt. I’m currently live in Newcastle, NSW and am available for adoption interstate.
Rocky's adoption fee is $300 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
