About Del D0081
Hello chaps. I’m Del or resident dad, that’s what the young ones call me. I don’t mind the nickname or when they come to me for advice. These young pups always want to know about love and loyalty. I tell them it’s easy when you meet the right humans. Nothing really fazes me these days; I love the company of all walks of life. Little humans are just as intriguing as the big ones and I’m good at entertaining all of them. They admire my zest for life. The arthritis doesn’t stop me but it has definitely slowed me down a little lately. I don’t let it get to me though; it displays character when a man’s got a few aches and pains to show for his colourful existence. My favourite pastime at the moment is letting the sun lull me into a siesta after a long walk. I often dream of the days where I was once a strapping young cattle dog earning his keep on the farm and playing his role in the greater circle of life. When I wake up I realise it’s a family I’m yearning for now. One that shares my passion for naps and strolls and can see the value a wise old dog can add to their litter.
Medical notes
Del has arthritis in his hips and knees and although he doesn't show any discomfort, he will require a gentle lifestyle for his final years. He has had 11 teeth removed due to infection and disease of his gums which are now rectified. Del was believed to be between 8 and 11 years of age. This is a ball park guess. He certainly plays like a younger dog and has a new zest for life.
