About Ziggy ~ Amstaff puppy (pend. adoption)
Ziggy is a 6 month old American Staffordshire pup. Affectionately named ZigZag initially, it was soon shortened Ziggy when he first met his current family.
Ziggy is a handsome boy with the clearest green eyes that will melt your heart. Tan in colour with a little red nose, his paws from the beginning have always been impressively large.
This young man is predominantly house trained, with only occasional accidents inside if his humans don’t realise he needs to go! Ziggy has also attended puppy preschool where he has socialised with other pups and humans and picked up a few nifty commands to follow. With a loyal and obedient personality Ziggy has learnt to Sit, Drop, Wait, Stay and Shake. He is still learning to love the lead, but with a bit of practice and a comfy harness, Ziggy enjoys getting out to the park to sniff all of the smelly scents.
Currently living with another pup the same age but different breed, Ziggy LOVES hanging out with his doggy companion. He has shown that he is friendly with dogs of all sizes. He can sometimes get nervous around bigger dogs who are more excited or vocal than he is and introductions should be a must.
Ziggy loves his warm jacket on cold nights and sleeps indoors next to his doggy companion. They sleep in separate beds but likes to know she is close. He is used to sleeping in a crate, but with the doors open. His favourite thing is little jerky treats for being a good boy and noisy squeaky toys (even though he can play with them until they are destroyed!). Car rides still need practice - often the unknown can cause some nerves which lead to a bit of sickness.
Ziggy is going to be a big boy - probably quite tall like his dad. Because of this he is going to be better suited to an older family with teenage children or adults. He can be vocal when he is nervous or worried. He loves to be near his humans and likes to know where they are. A home with another doggy or human companion during the days would be beneficial for Ziggy. Tall fences are also a necessity as he will do anything to be with your or know where you are.
As Ziggy is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
