About Champy
Champy is a true champion, he has been through so much in his short 6 years and we feel privileged that the rescue has been able to help him.
When Champy first came to the rescue he had been passed through a number of homes, was unable to walk and didn't have toileting control. With the help of a fantastic specialist team, Champy has had spinal surgery and has started walking again. It's honestly a miracle that he has improved this much and can still get even better as his strength is rebuilt.
With Champy back on his feet, we are excited to help find a forever home for him to settle. Champy gets along well with other friendly dogs and could live in a home with another female dog (they would need to meet to be sure they get along). Champy isn't fazed by cats, and would be fine with kids school age & older.
Champy needs a home where he doesn't need to navigate stairs day to day, and where he can have supervised time walking around and also attend a weekly water physio appointment to continue to build strength (he is presently going to VSS Underwood).
Helping Champy has been such a special experience, and whoever is able to give him the right forever home will find this incredibly rewarding.

Medical notes
Champy has a spinal issue which affects his mobility and toileting. He was fortunate to have a specialist surgical procedure done and he is in the process of gaining increased mobility and strength, his toileting control has also returned.
Champy needs a home where he doesn't need to navigate stairs day to day, and where he can have supervised time walking around and also attend a weekly water physio appointment to continue to build strength.
Champy has also had surgery on his airway to improve his breathing (soft palate, tonsils & nares), but he is still a bulldog and will need to be inside in the aircon on warm days.
