About Argo
Wether it's Greek mythology you're in to, Argo was the name of the ship on which Jason & the Argonauts sailed to retrieve the golden fleece, or Astrology that resonates with you, Argo was a large former constellation in the southern hemisphere lying between Canis Major & the Southern Cross. Personally, I'm going with the ship as I do feel like I am negotiating unsure waters at the moment as I search for my new family to love me.
My name is Argo & despite needing to find a new home, I'm told I have the most adorable personality. I love to be close to people & cuddle up. I'm a medium sized dog & I am extremely friendly - I do have a bad habit of jumping up to greet people but it's the puppy in me, I'm SO excited to see you that I can't help myself. Plus, I'm very gentle, I never hurt or knock over anyone. I am very playful, just look into my lovely, sparkly amber eyes always so hopeful that you will throw the ball for me!
I am house trained & food orientated so would be really easy to train. I already know how to sit & I do usually respond to my name - if I'm not distracted by that noise in the bush! I will need some things I'm allowed to chew on - this is the Kelpie in me but I'm a very good boy, I only chew on what I'm allowed.
I am very gentle when you offer me treats. I make friends very easily - I am trusting of kind & caring humans almost immediately. I don't bark much at all. I have working dog roots so will need to be regularly exercised - I don't sit still for long & I'm pretty excited by the prospect of ""walkies"" & food!
I have a quirky way of just flopping down on the floor for a rest - hips splayed & very flat to the ground like an old fashioned bear rug! I also have this cute way of crossing my front paws over when I lay on my front - apparently, it's a Kelpie thing also. I'm a lovely black & tan colour & my tail is fluffy - my fur is super soft on my head. Perfect for pats. I adore children because they are so uncomplicated - I can sit on the couch & help you with your homework & then, you can throw the ball for me all afternoon. I am always up for the park or the great outdoors - as long as I'm with you. I would make a great best friend for most children out there. I will need help getting used to the dog lead as well - I have started my training but not too sure what it's for at the moment.
I've travelled round a bit - I'm pretty cruisey & always seem to have a smile on my face & tail wagging. I have been offered some lovely dog beds but I just sleep on the floor at the moment. Some habits will take a while to change.
So, if you think you have what it takes to polish up this little gem star & get me ship shape, you will be rewarded with loyalty, endless unconditional love, a beautiful friendly face to come home too (each & every time - it never gets old with me) & the perfect non-judgemental listening ear. After all, this ship has done a bit of sailing & it's time to come in to harbour now. Don't hesitate - SAVE A GOOD LIFE TODAY!
