Poppy

Poppy is a gorgeous wiggly little 3.5 year old greyhound girl who is looking for a kind and patient forever family. She is a very chill girl who loves snoozing 90% of the day and then going for a little walk, eating and practicing her tricks the other 10% of the day.

Poppy does very well when left alone and has not shown any signs of separation anxiety while in foster care. She is currently living with a greyhound sibling and ideally, would like to have the company of another easy-going greyhound, or humans that have lots of time to spend with her. Poppy has enjoyed living with her greyhound friend, although very occasionally she will resource guard over a high value treat so supervision with high value items is recommended as Poppy continues to learn to communicate and share.

Poppy generally walks nicely on leash but can be a bit reactive to other dogs, so will need some space and slow socialisation with other breeds. She is not suited to living with non-greyhounds and no cats please.

Poppy is a quirky little girl who has captured the hearts of all who have met her while in foster care. She ‘scuttles’ instead of runs, wiggles her head from side to side while running up to you all excited, LOVES when you rub her ears and her wagging tail makes the loudest noise when she bangs it against the furniture when you get home from work. She can be a bit fearful of people who are very loud and may try and hide from them at first. However once she see’s they are not a threat to her and they give her some treats she becomes their best friend!

Beautiful Poppy is house-trained, can ‘go to her bed’, ‘shake’, ‘spin’, ‘touch’, ‘drop’ and is learning some others! She is a smart cookie who loves her adult humans and is very food-motivated so will do anything to please you.
