About Shorty
Hi I'm Shorty. I'm a 9 year old small cross breed. I'm a gorgeous, happy and gentle soul with my foster carers, but I'm also an extremely nervous girl. I have come out of my shell, with huge potential to be an extremely loving and devoted indoor companion dog.
I happily live in foster care with cats/kittens, dogs/puppies and my foster carers. Due to anxiety and only just starting to experience life as a normal dog after a life of abuse by my previous owners, I will fit into a gentle home with lots and lots of time, patience and understanding to adjust to a new environment and when settled I will give lots of love and cuddles. Due to my previously horrid life I get extremely nervous when I first meet new humans. I try to scare them by barking and growling so they don't touch me. Once I trust you I will show you how cuddly and sweet I truly am.
I adore being with my trusted humans and would like to be where you are. I absolutely love car rides and walks. At home I'm an inside kinda girl and will happily lay in my bed. I'm toilet trained and have not had any accidents inside. I will also take treats very gently from your fingers and sit like a princess.
I would best suit a home with no young children. Teenagers and up would be suitable. I am initially more scared of men, but I have learnt to trust the human males in my foster home and I am now perfectly fine with them.
Adoption details
All of our animals are placed into foster care in a family type environment, which allows them to be exposed to various environmental factors such as cats, dogs, children, visitors, noises etc.
All of our animals have a health assessment. They are desexed, microchipped, receive their 1st F4 vaccination or C4 vaccination and have parasite treatment prior to going to their new homes. Once ready for adoption we look to find our fosters the most suitable home environment depending on their personalities and needs.
