About Katie ~ dachshund x (on trial 5/10/19)
Katie is a 14-month-old dachshund x. Named after the super skinny Kate Moss, Katie is now thriving and ready for her new home. When this sweet young pup came into care, she was very undernourished and had been given very little love and care. Though her previous life may not have been great, Katie sure is making up for it now!
During just 2 weeks in care, Katie has learned to use the doggy door and is only having accidents in the house when her family accidentally lock her in 🤦♀️. She can sit for a treat, and has learned her new name.
We suspect that Katie may not have had many nice things in life, but can I tell you, she just loves her super soft bed that was generously donated to DRN! Her foster mum puts her bed in a crate at night and she curls up and sleeps the whole night without a peep. You should see her snuggle into that bed! She is an inside dog and must be treated like a member of the family and sleep indoors. No more lonely days and lonely nights for Katie!
She walks well on the lead when not overwhelmed with lots of other dogs or people. She is still a pup and needs continued exposure to these things.
Katie loves the older dogs that she lives with, but she can sometimes drive them nuts. She just wants to play! Any new fur siblings will need to be prepared to play...a lot!
Katie is a dream in the car, often dozing and recharging on the way to the next destination. She doesn't chew anything other than her toys. She discovered a very serious distrust of parasailers while having this photoshoot. 😊
To apply to meet Katie, please fill out our Adoption Questionnaire https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt. If you have any questions you can contact her foster carer by email to sausageandmaggie@outlook.com. Katie is in Fletcher, NSW (western Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
