About Isaac
Oh, hey thanks for stopping by! My name is Isaac, and when I ask for smooches, I'll come to you and do something funny – I put my head in your lap and my cute toosh in the air and gradually lower it as the pats are dished out. Now, imagine the sound of reversing truck beeping as my butt lowers! Hehe!
You also won't need to be a master of the culinary arts to win me over. I eat almost anything that is good for houndies. I have even been known to munch on raw veggies. I will also require your toast crusts. Go ahead, put some peanut butter on those bad boys, and I may just love you forever!
I will tell you a secret – my foster folk say that they love "how excited I get before we go for a walk or adventure" and how I will "race you down the corridor". It's true, I might even throw in a little "hip and shoulder" just to win!
I love being around people and I will be by your side at the first sign of an adventure. Man, do I love an adventure! I would enjoy a once a day, slow stroll around the block. I am content to be the only household hound. I'm not a fan of cats, so no cats for this boy. I'm a good listener and have learnt to follow the lead.
I would be suitable for part-time, or full-time workers (no longer than 7 hours). If you are around during the day, I would love that, but if you have to go out to work to make money for my snack fund, I totally understand, and I will be fine. Just be ready to be smothered in affection and smooches and cuddles when you come home. Ready when you are!
Summary:
> PT or FT workers
> Not small dog or cat friendly
> If kids, 10+ years
> Only household hound
Medical notes
Microchipped (transfer inclusive of adoption fee), desexed, vaccinated, up to date with flea and worm treatments.
Isaac also has early-onset pannus, an eye condition common in greyhounds which requires once daily eye drops in his left eye only.
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
Click 'Enquire about this pet' to contact us or email us at admin@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. We'll send you an EOI form, this must be returned before proceeding.
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $320.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial.
We have a 3 week trial, where support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
