About Sassy ~ Kelpie puppy (on trial 1/10/19)
Sassy by name, sassy by nature! Sass is a petite, 15-week-old kelpie girl. Are you looking for a pup full of spirit, who is lively, bold, full of fun and a little bit cheeky but also very smart? If the answer is yes, please let me introduce you to this young lady.
Sassy would suit someone wanting a dog to take out on adventures, to be a loyal friend, a companion.
She would also suit a family with older kids, above 8 years old, as being a working breed, she has loads of energy. I think she might be too much for young kids due to her being a bit excitable. She would be great for kids who love playing outdoors or in the yard. She loves to play chase.
At the moment everything is new and fascinating to her. She takes things in her stride but if unsure of anything will bark at it.
She is currently living with two medium size dogs and tries to be a bit bossy but they put her in her place and she's learning quickly what is acceptable and what is not. She has been introduced to two cats but neither cat finds her chasing them much fun, so not ideal for cats.
Sass would benefit a puppy/dog training course to learn the basics. She already knows how to sit and will come when called. She would be a good dog to train for agility. She isn’t fully house trained yet but has learnt to use the doggy door, so she just needs a little more guidance in this area.
Sass hasn’t had much time on the lead yet but is happy to go for a walk. We recommend walking all dogs on a harness so there's no pressure on their necks.
At the moment since she, is new in care she is sleeping on the bed but she does sleep all night. As she gets older, she will be happy to sleep on a doggy bed but must be allowed to sleep inside and be inside with the family when they are home. She wouldn’t suit full time workers unless she had another dog to keep her company.
To apply to meet Sassy, please fill out our Adoption Questionnaire https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt. If you would like discuss Sass, please contact her foster Sharron by emailing sstudley3@bigpond.com or texting 0423 331 057. She is located in Merewether Heights NSW (Newcastle).
As Sassy is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she's 5 to 6 months old.
Sassy's adoption fee is $550 which includes her desexing, vaccination and microchip. She has been treated for fleas and worms.
