About Ripley
Ripley was originally adopted from us back in 2018 but due to unfortunate circumstances for the owners she is now looking for a new home. She has been very much loved and cared for. She gets on well with dogs for moderate lengths of time - e.g. Half days at daycare. She can play a little rough with other dogs but she might grow out of this. For the moment she is probably best homed without another dog. She's great at meeting other dogs on walks - show's a little interest, will sniff and say hello but is also okay with just walking on past.
Ripley walks really well on lead. Minimal pulling. Not a huge fan of lots of traffic rushing past, then you might get more pulling. Loves the beach but is still not sure of the water.
She's a medium energy level dog. She's happy being a big old couch potato but does love her daily walk.
Ripley absolutely loves food-based toys - her Kong is her favourite thing. She's a strong chewer and needs the stronger toys and she will destroy soft toys fairly quickly.
She is very affectionate and loves cuddles and pats. She needs a reasonable amount of attention. Ripley would suit being an indoor/outdoor dog. She likes lying outside during the day when the weather's nice.
Friendly when meeting new people generally, but is not the gushy type.
Ripley is semi-crate trained. She understands it as HER space with her bed, happy to go sit in there and chill out but she's never been shut in there. It has been used more as her own retreat when she needed time alone etc.
Ripley knows how to sit and come when called. Her recall is fairly reliable but she does get distracted if you let her wander for too long. With a bit more training she'll be fine off-leash at the beach etc but it's something that needs a bit more training.
When Ripley does bark she stops pretty quickly and is easy to distract.
Adoption details
If you are interested in one of our animals please phone or send an email to rescue@btcanimalshelter.com.au and we will reply as soon as possible.
A questionnaire will need to be completed which will allow us to ensure we are placing our animals into the right home. Once the completed questionnaire is received, we will respond by email / phone call to discuss the animal in further detail, and answer any other questions you may have. Please note that completing the questionnaire does not place you under any obligation to adopt. We can arrange a meet and greet for you (and existing pets) to spend some time with the pet and see if they are likely to fit into your life.
