About Lola
Lola is part of an unplanned litter of four purebred Kelpie puppies (Richard and Brock are listed separately, Jodie has been adopted). She’s the “runt” of the litter, a petite little girl, like her mum.
Mum Billie is a small Black and Tan girl, who didn’t make the grade as a working dog and dad was a blue and tan Kelpie. She and the puppies were surrendered to us when the puppies were a few days old. They have been well nourished from day one and have had all their usual health treatments and will be desexed before they go to their new homes.
At 10 weeks of age, Lola is displaying the expected Kelpie traits of intelligence, loyalty, confidence and friendliness. Though the smallest, she’s very healthy.
My husband took Billie and her puppies under his wing and has been caring for them. They all happily follow him around doing his animal feeding chores and just pottering about the sheds. If he sits down, they lie contentedly at his feet, gazing up at him! They are attentive puppies and do like to know what you’re doing.
Being a Kelpie, Lola will need a reasonably active home, that said, her mum is not overactive by any means. If you work most of the week, another active dog for company would be ideal.
Working breeds benefit from puppy pre school and can progress to activities like agility, fly ball, jogging etc. Some places even have classes for “herding” if your puppy is partial to that discipline.
Lola is in care at Moree, NSW.
Moree has daily flights to Sydney and further afield, costing approximately $220 to Sydney and $260 to Melbourne.
Commercial dog road transportation is another option, going south one week and north the next.
Medical notes
Vet checked, no medical problems.
