About Clifford
Our Clifford is just as lovable as Clifford the Big Red Dog in the children’s book series.
He came to us from the Pound after being picked up by the Rangers. Nobody claimed the poor boy.
Clifford has the sweetest, kindest, most placid nature imaginable and is such a good boy with everyone he’s met since being in care.
It was with some trepidation that I introduced Clifford to other male dogs, puppies and small yappy ones - but Cliffy soon put my mind at ease, he couldn’t have cared less. When one small one yapped in his face he gave it a passing glance as if to say, “I don’t know what your problem is”, but otherwise ignored her. When the pups jump all over him, Clifford simply trots away with them in tow, until they find something else to play with.
I was not so nervous about bringing him inside to meet the cats, seeing the other meetings with the dogs went so well, however I was still cautious. Again, Clifford was nothing short of a true gentleman - Rita the cat marched straight up to him - with tail wagging gently, Clifford just sniffed her - so definitely not cat aggressive.
Clifford is a good boy in the car. He also walks quite well on a leash. He’s not an anxious dog, nor a nuisance barker or a digger. All in all, if you’re looking for a big dog, you’d be hard pressed to find a nicer one than Clifford.
He’s still a little thin, but we’re building him up with plenty of good food.
Clifford is in care at Moree, NSW. Fortnightly road transportation is available at the adopter’s expense.
