Super friendly Oscar was surrendered because his young owner’s circumstances changed and she wasn’t able to take him with her when she moved away.
So typical of the family friendly Labrador breed, Oscar is intelligent and easy to train and he adores water - a good shake and he dries off quickly.
He’s a submissive boy but is wonderfully social with all kinds of dogs. When one of my little fluffies told him off in no uncertain terms, he hid under a chair! That said, Oscar doesn’t lack confidence nor friendliness.
Oscar isn’t cat aggressive, when he stuck his head through the pet flap, possibly with thoughts of squeezing through, Rita the cat marched up to him with arched back and a big bushy tail and greeted him with a hiss and a spit - Oscar retreated with tail between his legs.
Being a young, active Labrador, Oscar would be happiest in a home where he has another active dog to play with. He would be very sad if his owner went off to work every day and left him home alone.
Oscar would excel at agility, flyball or other active pursuits. His basic manners are fine, but he would benefit from some obedience classes.
