About Buddy
Name: Buddy
Breed: Border Collie X
Age: 2 years
Sex: Male
Dog Friendly: Yes
Child Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Toilet Trained: Yes
Location: Everton Park, QLD
Meet Buddy! he absolutely adores humans and will happily sit by your side for hours on end. His favourite place to be is curled up on the couch with his head on your lap. He is also content to settle onto his bed and just observe the world when instructed.
Buddy was found abandoned at a tip in rural Queensland. Unfortunately he had an infection in his bone that was too severe to be saved and his leg had to be amputated. However he hasn't let losing his leg dampen his spirit. He is the happiest dog you'll ever meet.
He is quite submissive to other dogs and gets along with them well. He would be well-suited as both an only dog or with another dog. He knows basic commands (sit, come, wait) but would benefit from continued training!
Although his foster family utterly love him, he is looking forward to meeting his forever family!
Medical notes
Buddy has 3 legs but this doesn't slow him down. Due to Buddy having a very badly infected metacarpal pad, this infection had gone through his bone and through the other side. Buddy has now fully healed and will not cause issues in the future.
Buddy has had the following vetwork completed:
~ Desexed
~ C5 Vaccinated
~ Microchipped
~ Heartworm Tested
~ Heartworm Treated
~ All-Wormed
~ Flea Treated
Adoption details
~ ADOPTION PROCESS ~
STEP 1: An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT DO INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS ** We require all animals to have a meet & greet with their new family before they are officially adopted, no exceptions. If you are willing and able to meet the dog in person, we are happy to accomodate the adoption.
STEP 2: If successful, our foster carer will be in touch within 24-48 hours.
STEP 3: A 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
STEP 4: The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 4 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
STEP 5: A 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from the foster carer.
STEP 6: The Adoption is the finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email after this period. Please note this can take up to 4 weeks pending on the microchip paperwork.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HOLD ANY ANIMALS SO PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT NOW. **
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
