Mia is a special lady who needs a special home. When Mia came to us she was very stressed and untouchable, she was not having anyone near her. She was in such a state at the shelter one of our very experienced staff members took her into foster care with the hope that she would improve in a quiet home situation. After a couple of weeks in foster she was a totally different cat. She is now available for adoption to her special home.
Mia’s personality is not what most would regard as a typical Ragdoll, she can be very affectionate as long as you respect her and do not push her to do anything she does not want to. Mia needs a quiet INDOOR ONLY home with a very patient and experienced cat person who is home a lot but will give her space and time. A home without young children, other cats or dogs.
Mia is a beautiful cat and will make a great companion to someone who is willing to put in the ground work during the transition into her new home, it could take one – two weeks, or even longer, for her to feel comfortable and safe in her new environment.
Mia Likes:
To snuggle under blankets and get in bed with you
She would like to sleep with you every night
Sometimes likes to play with her feather wand if she is in the mood
Likes to follow you around the house from room to room
Likes to have a chat
To get into wardrobes, cupboards, under beds etc when she wants to be left alone and will sleep there all day
Adoption details
All enquiries by email only to sheltermanager@catprotection.com.au, please include your contact details and a bit about your home and family dynamics. The Shelter Manager will call you to chat further and possibly set up a meeting.
Mia will not be at shelter, she will remain in Foster care until adopted, she is located in the Macleod area which is close to the Cat Protection Society and all meet and greets with Mia will be at the Foster Carer’s home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
