About Axel
AXEL IS TRYING OUT A HOME.
Hi. I'm Axel. I'm a sweet natured boy who is happy to be home alone when my foster carers are at work, sun baking and snoozing on the deck. I like to save my energy for when they get home because it is SO EXCITING to see them.
I love going on walks and am getting much better on the lead. I need some help to behave myself when I see other dogs, but I am getting better each day. I love cuddles, sleeping inside and a blanket to keep me warm. And of course, I am house trained.
Medical notes
I injured my back legs when I was younger and have some ongoing care needs such as vet visits and exercises to do at home to build up my muscles again. However, with the right food and my exercises you will hardly notice my injuries. I must not run fast or jump so ball games and frisbees are a big NO NO. This is very important because I won't show my pain when I am having fun.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need Website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. My emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
