About Albert
Albert was sadly dumped in a box by the side of the road, before being rescued. He is only about 10 weeks old, and is your typical puppy. A tiny, playful bundle of fluff! He is just gorgeous, perfect, and an absolute delight! So much fun to be around, and not get any work done.
Albert is almost completely deaf, which could be a reason he was dumped instead of ending up in a pet shop window. This does not slow him down from learning, and he is picking up sign language in the short time he's been here. He has everything to learn from the start, which includes how to go through doors (he literally had to learn to take two steps to the right to follow me out, instead of barking out the window), toilet training, etc. He is teething, and his favourite chew-toy is human hands. It's not really a behavioural problem, more just something he'll grow out of in time, provided his new owners don't encourage or create a problem out of it. For this reason though, he isn't suitable being rehomed with kids, as his teeth are sharp and will hurt small hands and tender skin. He is also tiny, so does present a bit of a tripping hazard.
Albert sleeps through the night without making a noise. He has burst of energy, and then is happy to come inside and fall into a deep sleep. His hearing impairment means he will sleep through vacuuming right around him, and isn't phased by other household sounds. He bonds closely to one human, but will play with anyone, and being a puppy approaches the world with natural curiosity and fearlessness. He loves playing with other dogs, and has a great start learning from our mellow, tolerant shelter dogs showing him the ropes. A playful, small, young dog in his new home would be ideal. He'd love a brother or sister.
We can only speculate about Alberts heritage, but suspect pomeranian/spitz to be in his breeding. He should stay on the small/small-medium side. A range of lifestyles would suit Albert, but being a puppy, he needs someone who can be with him all day and spend lots of time socialising and raising him to fill all the potential which is so evident. He is microchipped and vaccinated, however will need another vaccination in early September, and desexing at 4-6 months of age. He is still too young to be desexed, however this is all included in his adoption fee.
Albert is sure to get a lot of attention, maybe rivalling that of Remy, a previous purebred rescue everyone wanted. The standards are high, so give as much detail and truth in your application as you can. Also know that if you've come to a rescue to get a cheap bargain, Albert is not the dog for you. Yes, he is priceless, however we will be charging a higher adoption fee to cover the expenses of the less desired rescues that remain in our care. He is more than worth it, and it's really time rescues stopped undercharging for the privilege of being mum/dad to such amazing animals.
We love having Albert here, and there is no rush to find him a home. However, the best thing for him is to find his forever family, instead of being selfish and keeping all the puppy cuddles to ourselves. Only apply if you really believe you can come close to loving him as much as we do.
Enquiries and applications through www.PorschesRescue.com only. No exceptions. No questions will be answered on here. If interested in an animal, do some research. Anyone sending messages via FB or PetRescue have obviously not bothered reading this far, so automatically get cancelled in the selection process.
