About Indi
Looking for a fun, loving and loyal companion to join you on those weekend hikes and camping trips? On the long drive to visit family? Someone to make those walks that little more enjoyable? Say hi to Indi!
*IMPORTANT - If you are interested in Indi, please ensure you read her bio in full before enquiring.
Only homes with a desexed, active male dog will be considered.*
Indi is a very happy, energetic Cattle dog mix. She loves people, similar sized doggy friends, food, cuddles and exploring. She is looking for that special person to welcome her into their home and daily life, she will not be suited to dog parks or places she will interact with small dogs.
Being a working breed, Indy will require a canine pal and a family/handler with strong leadership skills. The bond Indy will develop with her handler will be unbreakable.
When Indi first arrived in care, she displayed some dog reactivity issues, both in her first foster home and on walks, in which she would become highly focused on another dog, before barking and lunging.
We believe the stress of her pound stay, her plane flight to us and her change of environment were all factors in her reactions to other dogs, as well as a lack of direction, effective communication and boundaries. Once settled into her new foster home, however, with an understanding of the rules and what behaviour is acceptable, she became a much happier and calmer pup, who is eager to please and will do anything for a belly rub.
Indi is looking for a home with no small animals, cats or small dogs, but rather a similar sized/bigger, desexed MALE dog, with similar activity levels, the person enquiring must be the owner of the other dog.
A confident canine buddy to offer Indi guidance and a sense of security.
Indi is toilet trained, crate trained, walks well on leash, isn't fussed around children and knows basic obedience (with implied stays) - sit, down, touch, come, place, kennel, 'yes' and her release word 'ok'.
She has been extremely good with children and very tolerant of the young one's grabby hands, however she will need to go to a home with no children, or children 6yrs+
Indi's new family will also need to have at least a basic understanding of how to read and interpret dog body language (and/or the willingness to learn).
All in all, Indi would thrive in an active household, with a confident, tolerant canine companion, people who aren't afraid to enforce boundaries when needed, and who are committed to continue Indy's training. She thrives off of structure, direction and strong leadership.
If you have any questions or think you may be what Indi is looking for, please send us an enquiry telling us a little about what you can offer!
Indi is located in Ballarat.

Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
