This is Emmah! This very affectionate girl came to us as an owner surrender and is now looking for the perfect home for her needs.
Emmah is deaf, but this doesn't hinder her enthusiasm for life at all. She's friendly to everyone she meets and absolutely loves people! She thinks she's a lap dog and will happily climb into a lap, not realising how big she is. For this reason we would recommend that she goes to a family with children who are at least 5 years of age.
She loves all other dogs and gets on well with her foster carer's cats. She is housetrained, rarely barks and knows a few sign language commands. She pulls a little on the lead initially when taken for a walk but soon settles down and walks quietly.
Emmah needs to go to a home that has experience with dogs, and we would strongly recommend that her new owner seeks some professional training to assist in the safe and informed ownership of her.
She doesn't like to be left alone for too long, so will need a home with someone who is around for a good part of the day. She loves to run in her carers paddock and keeps an eye on her carers to see where they are. If they are too far away she will come closer. She loves to play chase with balls and ride in the car.
The ideal home for Emmah will have a large, secure yard for her to run around, a home where she's included as part of the family, who will bear in mind her deafness and adapt accordingly.
She needs a couple of good walks each day, and needs to be allowed to sleep inside with her family at night.
If you can give this very special girl a home of her own, please submit an enquiry and we will be in touch soon.
