About Ivy 🦋
Ivy is an absolute sweetheart....she's 4.5 years old and a Blue Sable Frenchie. Ivy is in care with 6 host dogs (various ages and sizes) and gets along well with everyone. She has also previously been in care with cats and not phased by them, although if they sneak up behind her quietly, she will bark at them. No aggression was displayed though. She has also shown no food aggression during her time in care.
Although Ivy does still get a little overwhelmed/timid when people approach her, she quickly warms to them when shown affection. She has been exposed to young kids during her time in care and coped extremely well with their loud outside voices.
Ivy is a quiet, super affectionate and playful girl. She will quickly become your little shadow and very much enjoys to snuggle on your lap. She adores her people, and a home where she had the company of her humans and/or a little doggie companion, would certainly be her dream home. Ivy enjoys playing Tug-o-war with the host dogs in her foster home and enjoys chasing a tennis ball, but still working on bringing it back. This stocky little girl has the most beautiful soft coat and quite different from the average French Bulldog. She walks well on lead and looks for direction from her humans. Ivy is great inside the home and toilet trained. She uses the doggie door to take herself outside when needed.
Due to their 'screw' tails, they are susceptible to a condition known as 'hemivertebra of the spine'. When hemivertebra is present in your dog’s tail, it typically is not an issue. When it is in their spine, it can lead to serious problems. The deformity of the vertebrae will lead to a twisting of the spine which can compress your dog’s spinal cord. Hemivertebra can be minor, where only one or two vertebrae have the deformity and the dog does not experience any clinical signs. In some cases, the dog will experience minor symptoms; in other cases, the condition will significantly impact the dog’s ability to function.
Ivy has been tested for Hemivertebrae of the spine and she does have 2 showing. This does not necessarily mean that she will have any issues down the track, but will greatly depend on her lifestyle. As with any French Bulldog, jumping on/off beds and couches, leaping in the air to grab the frisbee or ball, or any activities that involve twisting of the spine, should be avoided. Ivy has also had her nares widened and soft palate done while in for Desex. She is in great health and shown no signs of food intolerances or allergies.
Despite their glum expression, the French Bulldog is comical and entertaining. They are quite stubborn and can be challenging to train, yet also surprisingly sensitive, remembers what they learn, and responds well to early, patient, persistent training that utilizes food motivation.
Snorting, snuffling, and flatulence go with the territory of short-faced breeds. We recommend doing your research on the breed before choosing to own one, as they do come with a range of health issues and require certain needs.
So if you've done your research and decided that you can provide everything this girl needs, please send us an enquiry. Ivy has had all her vet work completed and now ready to head off to her forever home. She is located in Wyee Point on the Central Coast, NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
