About Leo Del Rio - is checking out his new home
Victorian Dog Rescue has a six-week full refund policy and a lifetime takeback guarantee that includes 50 per cent of the adoption fee refunded.
Little Leo Lion is growing into a handsome young chap with a big fluffy mane and possum tail. He's a quiet boy and sweet boy and would prefer his home to be quiet too.
Leo loves other animals. Having grown up in a household full of cats and dogs he is extremely social, there isn't a creature he doesn't love. He is often found rolling around with or grooming his canine companions. Although Leo loves everyone there is one companion he doesn't want to be without. His brother, Spiro Del Rio. The two little fluffs are usually found together whether it's time for playing or cuddling. They are looking for a home where they can be together.
Leo is very affectionate - but on his own terms. He won't stay with you on the couch if you pick him up and put him in your lap, but when he decides it's cuddle time he'll let out a tiny little squeak and come and find you. That's your cue to scoop him up. When you do, he flops in your arms like a ragdoll and purrs with enthusiasm. He loves to watch what people do and will keep you company all day lying on the desk while you work at the computer. He also loves to watch you brush your teeth, usually taking it as a cue to jump up into the sink and curl up in the bowl. After you've brushed your teeth together, it's time for bed. Sleeping on the bed is a non-negotiable for Leo… no matter how many fluffy beds you buy him! He likes to snuggle right up close into your legs and then he's set for the night.
Leo is still a very playful kitten and is crazy for balls, he collects them like a pile of treasures and parades around the house with sparkly pom pom in his mouth. Leo knows his name and will come running towards you for a pat when you squeak it at him. There is nothing sweeter than watching him trot over excitedly towards you, tail held high in the air, squeaking as he goes.
Although Leo is friendly and interactive with people he knows, he can be quite shy with new people and will take some time to come out and meet them - his shyness can usually be overcome quite quickly though with the offer of a Dine creamy treat. He is overjoyed when you offer him the treat and will stand on his back legs with his paws wrapped around your hand as you feed it to him.
Leo is currently an indoor cat and has access to an enclosure outside. On warmer days he likes to take himself out through the cat door and spends hours just lazing outside happily watching the world go by.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
