About Patch
Meet Patch! This very friendly boy came to SAFE Esperance from a nearby town and is now looking for a loving home.
Patch came into care with some physical and life scars. He's bounced back however and is just the sweetest, sensitive, loving boy. He is a little wary of men on initial meeting but soon comes out of his shell once he knows that they mean him no harm. He is shy of children so we would suggest a home with older teenagers, who know to give him the space that he may need.
He is good around other dogs but isn't keen on entire male dogs. He is untested at present around cats and small animals. He walks well on the lead and is housetrained. He knows some commands, has good recall and is a bright boy, so should be easy to train. Any training will need to be given with positive reinforcement - due to his life experiences Patch is very sensitive to a raised voice. He will bark when someone comes to the house, and seems to be a little scared of loud machinery noises.
Patch will chew things if left alone for a long period of time. He isn't protective of his food but he is cheeky and will take food from the resident dogs' bowls when they aren't looking. He loves a good walk on the beach and now enjoys riding in the car. He also loves to lie in the sun but will need monitoring as he has light coloured skin. We think that Patch may be slightly sensitive to chicken so this needs to be kept to a minimum in his diet.
Patch loves to run with the resident dogs in his foster home and is just a very sweet and loyal boy. He has a helicopter tail and gets very excited at mealtimes and when you return home!
The ideal home for Patch will be a mature, calm home where he is treated as part of the family and given lots of care and love. He needs someone to be home most of the day as he wouldn't like to be left alone for long periods of time. He could live with another (preferably female) dog, but would be equally happy as an only dog and have all the attention given to him. He needs a decent sized, secure yard with room for him to run, and he needs to be able to sleep inside at night.
If you can provide the love and attention that Patch so deserves, please fill in an enquiry and we will be in touch soon.
