Hi everyone!
Can you believe this beautiful face was scheduled to be put to sleep in a council pound? My brother and I were abandoned there and ran out of time. Luckily, OTC came to our rescue!
Since coming into care, I have shown what a loving confident girl I am. It took me a while to stop being scared when I first came in, but I soon learned that I was here to be loved and protected and began to love life again. I have been a delight to have around. Because my team aren't sure of my history, they can't be sure what exact breed I am - but who actually cares anyway? All you need to know is I am loyal, going to be around 30kg as an adult we think, and that I have a placid and sweet nature.
I love to play with other dogs, and am used to part time workers. During the day I hang out in the yard with my other dog friend and we just wrestle and play together. I am a fairly quiet but playful dog, and have medium energy levels. I'd love to go to the dog park once or twice a week or more, and to go on walks a few times a week. I sit well in the car and really love pats. When I come inside, I am learning to wait til I am told I can, before I get up on the couch. At night, we sleep on the deck, and have a 'dog couch' and kennels to choose from. My manners are great, and I am food orientated so you will be able to train me really easily! I would fit easily into most homes. I would be fine with full time workers if there is another dog for company, or you can come home at lunch so I know you aren't leaving forever.
So what do you think? Could you love me? Please message my rescue asap to organise a meet!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
