About Sage
Sage was found by a member of the public with an injured leg she was taken to a vet hospital. Upon examination, x-rays and given appropriate vet care. She was found to have fractured her hind leg but examination also has uncovered previous older fractures so she has re-fractured her already damaged leg.
The veterinary decision was that she needs her hind leg amputated.
DCH has agreed to take on this kitten to give her a chance our supporters have helped to raise money for her surgery.
Sage has had her amputation and is getting around very well on 3 legs.
She is still a little scared of the world and being hurt but she will sleep on the couch and will give a great purr when she is being pat. She loves pats on the head and around the shoulders.
She has made friends with a kitten in foster care so gets along with other cats. She has had interactions with a puppy but she is a little cautious around him.
DCH is grateful to Kellyville Ridge Veterinary Hospital for doing the surgery at a discounted rate to give Sage a chance at a good life.
We are very thankful to the following people who have all helped and donated $582 for Sage's surgery. She cannot say Thank you herself but we say a big Thank you on her behalf.
Nadine, Leesa, Nick, Lauren, Debbie, Laura, Nabila, Gabby, Em, Jan, Steven, Anne-Marie and Georgia

Our animals are rescued from various pounds and shelters and placed in Foster Care until a permanent home can be found. Our volunteer Foster Carers are located throughout Sydney, Australia and are only too happy to assist you.
DCH Animal Adoptions relies solely on our adoption fees and the generous support of the community to continue our rescue work. Many times, we are faced with large veterinary bills due to the illness and injury that comes along with looking after pound rescues.
