About Axel
This good natured and very dog friendly four year old stock coated German Shepherd is in care at Tamworth.
Axel was taken into care from his former owner who did not have the time to train and socialise this young shepherd
Since Axel has been in care he has proved himself to be a very good natured and social young dog. Now in a foster home he has learnt manners and to be playful and tolerant with his fellow fur companions.
Axel is in excellent health is fully house trained and good around children.
This gentle boy would be best suited to a home where he has room to stretch his legs and have inclusion in the home.
Axel is a desexed male German Shepherd who is vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and fully vet checked.
Axel is a very tall Shepherd 45kg gentle boy. Social with all breeds large and small. He has an impeccable temperament with a lovely happy disposition and is a delight to have around.
Axel has not been tested with cats.
Excellent to walk on lead and he’s happy to walk off lead in the left heal position. He has a natural loyal desire to stay with you. Axel is fine around children and rarely does he jump up on you.
Axel does show interest to chase horses or sheep, however with firm voice commands he can be controlled when he is off leash. He will need secure fencing if he is to go to a rural environment and if you have stock.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
