Jacques - Located in Melbourne

Jacques is friendly and chatty and really loves to snuggle – on your lap or under the covers! He loves to paw at a blanket on the couch until he’s completely covered up and snuggled inside, even better if the blanket is on your lap. He also adores his covered cat house (which we’ve been trying to convince him to use to reduce the chance of accidentally being sat upon because he’s invisible in the blanket!). He’s not particularly playful but loves to lay in the sunshine, even more so when he can watch birds outside the window. He’s very chill and low maintenance.

He’s happiest when he has his own “kingdom”, a space that he can consider his own (even if it’s technically “your” bedroom). He will reward a visit to his kingdom with head boops, a chat and some rubbing with pats. He’s pretty self-sufficient and happy to hang out alone. Not one to greet you at the door right away, but he will come and get some pats and sit on your lap. He LOVES head rubs and enjoys sitting on your lap. He doesn’t mind being picked up so he’s good for a cuddle at the end of a hard day.

No problems with the litterbox and not a huge fan of other cats but he will tolerate them. He’s a little on the older side so slower than most cats, but this just means that there’s no problems with him jumping on the counters at all. He has the early stages of renal disease but eats a special diet and has been doing great on that. He’s a wonderful, low maintenance companion and will reward his new owner with easy companionship. He’s really sweet with a great personality. He does this amusing barking meow quietly if you do something he doesn’t like so he’s pretty good at communicating (or training his human, however you want to look at it). If you’re happy to have him in the bedroom while you’re sleeping, he prefers to sleep *under* the covers with you for at least part of the night especially if it’s chilly out. He’ll also sleep on the bed (sometimes on top of you), under the bed or outside the bedroom in his cat house.
