About Diesel
This beautiful boy is looking for a home where he can be a part of the family and their day to day life. Hanging out inside while you’re home, walks every day and lots of love and affection.
Diesel is a typical, stubborn, Husky who has lost some trust in human companions due to no fault of his own. Diesel likes to push limits and will require consistent and firm boundaries so that he can learn the rules of your home. Any rebellious inclinations can easily be remedied with enthusiastic praise or bribery (treats…) All Diesel really wants is a warm bed to curl up on at your feet and once he settles into a routine he is more than happy to obey the rules.
This sensitive guy would fit easily into a home with other dogs who can match his boisterous play-style or as an only dog where he can have your undivided attention! Younger kids would be a little too much for him, but he may be okay with teenagers who can respect his boundaries.
Diesel has the typical Husky prey-drive so will need a home with no cats or pocket pets, a reasonably large yard with secure, 6 foot and dig-proof fencing, and a family committed to continuing his ongoing obedience training.
Diesel is very food orientated and loves showing off his tricks (sit, drop, shake and wait) as well as learning new ones, he can’t wait to continue training in his new home. Diesel will need to go to a home that embraces and has experience with positive reinforcement training techniques so that he can continue to build his trust in humans.
Diesel loves walks and gets rather excited and forgets his lead manners when starting out, but he does settle down quickly and would benefit from a chest harness. He will need a handler that is committed to improving his walking skills. Seeing other dogs is super exciting, so he would benefit from a little bit of work on self control too.
