Jack

Here at Fresh Start Rescue, our focus is on saving dogs and cats on death row in pounds and shelters. We take in many Maremma from these situations, they are a specialty of ours.
But from time to time, in fact , very rarely, we are called upon to help in exceptional circumstances.
Jack is one such exceptional fellow.
For all of Jacks six years, he has known the love of a caring family. Very well bred, from livestock guarding parents, since an eight week old puppy, he has been the companion and protector of the family who raised him. The family who dotes on him. The family whose hearts are broken knowing they must rehome Jack .
It’s suffice to say that the very worst of life’s outcomes has happened to Jacks dear family.
Forced to sell their 50 acre farm, the farm that Jack loved so well. The place he grew up, where he learned to protect goats, to lovingly care for new born piglets , and the work of rounding up errant poultry.
How life can all change at the drop of a penny.
In recent years Jack has known the comforts of caring for the people he is bonded to, and this seems to suit him best.
Freshies want to help Jacks mum and dad. Help them find the most perfect home for the most perfect Maremma. A home where his chief concern will be looking after his new family, but with some animals, maybe some chickens or goats , that he can care for too.
And an acre or three where there’s room for him to roam around.
With the understanding that this exceptional situation is breaking hearts. And so some updates from time to time can help heal those hearts.
