Hey everyone! My name is Ryder.
I am a gorgeous, loving and smart boy. My mum was a bull arab, my dad a ridgeback...I have come out somewhere in the middle in size. I have a cool ridge down my back! Also I have a small scar on my face, where a dog at the vet clinic bit me as I was sitting on my carer's lap. Thankfully I am healthy and happy and it's only a scar. I have gotten a perfect bill of health from my vet, and am an absolutely awesome dog. I fit in easily to all homes, and am very social with dogs. I haven't met cats yet, but an experienced owner would be able to train me to get along with cats. I live with some caged birds and have learned to ignore them. Being food orientated, training is a breeze! I currently sleep on the patio either in my kennel or on my hammock bed, with my doggy foster sibling. I come inside to spend time with my family, and my house training is going great. I would easily be able to sleep inside at night, and definitely love to be a part of the family.
I'm a fairly relaxed, easy dog but also very playful. I will have medium energy levels as an adult and would love to go to the dog park a few times a week. I currently live behind 1.2m fencing and show no desire to escape. I enjoy car rides, and usually just nap and watch out the window- sometimes I get car sick, so if you don't feed me for two hours prior the car, it really helps. I behaved well at the vet and was very brave. I will grow to be around 35kg as an adult we think, and am currently on a large breed puppy biscuit. I am used to full time workers and just hang out at home with the other dog. I am only just learning what a leash is and how to use it, but will learn quickly with some consistency and love. I am a cute chatty dog... if you want a quiet little 'awoooo' to welcome you home each day, I'm your boy!
I'd love to have a family of my own, so please organise to meet me asap!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
