About Percy. Melbourne
Percy is ready to be the dog of your dreams! This handsome fellow lives to please his humans, so is quick to learn new things. He already obeys several commands, uses the dog door beautifully, and is great with children (seven or over) and smaller dogs (unless they’re off-lead, which is still overwhelming). He also has endearingly active ears, and inquisitive eyes to gaze at you adoringly.
Percy has medium energy levels, and likes two 20-minute walks a day, and a zoom in the yard. He loves human company, so would prefer to live with humans who are usually home. If his humans are out a lot, he’ll need another dog around to help him stay calm. Percy likes collecting souvenirs of his humans, so don’t be surprised if a shoe, toy, or blanket disappears for a while, then re-appears as a prized possession in Percy’s bed!
Like most greyhounds, Percy take the art of sleeping very seriously, and his meticulous bedtime routine is hilarious! First, he removes unwanted objects from the bed, then he digs it into shape, then turns around exactly three times – then sweet dreams! Tonight, Percy will be dreaming of finding a home where he can be a good dog for his humans forever. Will Percy’s dream come true?
Percy has not been tested with cats so not cat applications please.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
